My week...

So my week has been pretty good... especially w/ having the new baby here. He is just so dang cute...

Monday Robert and Cassie came home from the hospital. Tuesday I had school all day so nothing exciting there. Wednesday was fun. I went to help Cassie out with the baby. I brought over Authenian Breakfast Burritos (YUMMY) and we just hung out at her house all morning. I had a test in school at 4pm Wednesday, so i left to go study @ 2. So i studied and was feeling pretty confident... until the test was in front of me... OMG it was sooo hard and unexpected compared to our homework and what he told us to study!

So i was pretty bummed Thursday, but Friday was good. I worked and then we (Cassie, Sal, and I) took the kids (Allyson and Robert) to get their pictures done. I had gotten these 'big sister' and 'little brother' shirts for them, so they wore them and just looked cute. Robert slept thru most of the pictures, and ally was just being stubborn as usual, but they turned out ok. I'll post pics as soon as i get them (pick up is next Saturday) and scan them...The baby is still real red, and he has some acne still, but that's ok, its his 1st pics and everyone knows hes only 1 week old in them!

So Wednesday were going to DISNEYLAND! Yay! Me, Matt, Shannon, and Kyle are going to bring David and Capri there. Capri has never been, and Kyle has only gone once as a child (he grew up in Minnesota, kind of a far drive compared to our 15 minutes). We plan on going when they open @ 9, and staying all day. Shannon will take Capri to her moms at nap time, and her mom will keep her so we can go on 'big people' rides. David, even though he is only 4, can go on almost all the rides (excluding Indiana Jones, and he has to have an adult w/ him for Autopia)... which surprised me. So i think my sis will pick David up at like 5 or 6 when she gets outta work, so I can have a break from his energy. Cuz I'm sure by then ill be going crazy, David likes to talk ALOT!

Well, that was my week... no pics for today, i dont feel like uploading, but soon i promise!

venting

So... until now, my posts have been happy. But I am a real person, and I live in the same mid-recession america as everyone else. I personally have had no personal problems recently. I babysit for a wonderful family on the weekends, and i clean a house every friday. I am fortunate to work for families who have not been affected by the recession. But, others have.

My sister got fired from her job today. So, people automatically assume it is because of the economy and that she is just part of 'cutbacks' or something. Uh... no... I seriously feel she brought this on herself. She missed a whole week of work last month... is always late, and complains about everything. It really pisses me off because this is the 2nd time in 1 year she has been fired. She thinks just because she makes salary that she can just take advantage of not having a set 40 hour week. She makes good money for what she does (like over 45k per year), and she is only 25 with no college degree.

So, most ppl would thing that that is alot of money for someone. Not for her, she is somehow always broke. She asks me, who makes maybe 1/100th of what she does for money all the time. She wants 5 bucks for cirarettes, or 20 bucks for gas like a week after she gets paid. I really do not get how someone cannot have a budget, and live above their means. I cant even imagine how its gunna be next week when she has no money for anything. I just lie to her and say i dont have any money... because she will get mad if i just say no, and i dont want to fight.

And my poor mom, bless her soul, tries to fix my sister. She has given her over 10-12k in the past 4-5 years which she will probably never get back. Its like the 'bank of mom'. I guess i have too much pride to ask for money from people (other than the occasional dollar or something if i'm short, but never a significant amount). I have always been great with money, and you know what? I am a lot less stressed because of it. I feel bad that David has to live in a house with a stressed out mom, and now an unemployed mom who will be even more stressed in the upcoming days. I pray that she finds a job that she can keep, and that it is closer than her last job (it took her over an hour sometimes to drive 25 miles home-- traffic in the oc SUCKS!). And please pray for me, i really hate being mad, but it happens and i hate bottling my feelings up, thats y i made a BLOG!!!

Off to bed now... i have capri tomorrow while shannon goes off to a job interview... and then off to the recruiters office to try to get matt signed up for the navy... then off to school for my night class... busy day.

god bless

The Snow (Feb.23)

So last week, we went to the snow. We being Matt (the BF), Shannon, my goddaughter Capri (Shannons Daughter) and my nephew David. David had never been to the real snow in the mountains, just man made in the OC. Capri was too little last year to even care about the snow...

This is shannon and capri when we 1st got to big bear... its a little park called Boulder Bay, we just stopped to let the kids play there. Capri had no clue what to do in the snow... it was really cute, all she wanted to do was eat it... her fingers were ice cold in about 15 minutes.

David and Capri... She is mid bite (of snow), and he is just being a cheeseball, with his 80's snow jacket (from a thrift store- its from sears, but way back).

Me, Matt, Capri and David... shannon was taking the pic, so she isn't in the picture. This trip happened to land on 2/23, shannons 22nd birthday! So we had a fun thing to do on her bday that didnt cost much except gas money, and lunch money to feed the little ones (and us, of course)

So i am totally procrastinating studying for a test in my 'worksite health promotion' class right now... I hate reading my textbooks, and thats what i need to do... yuck! But today was a good day, my uncle and aunt from alabama are here and we had a big family lunch/dinner today... 2 uncles, 3 aunts, 2 step-aunts, 1 step-uncle, grandparents, sister, nephew, mom, BF, and my cousin... wow that was a lot of ppl now that i think about it, more than it seemed (16 including me, i may have left someone out in there though).
